Belas Clube de Campo cria primeira ‘comunidade de energia’

O resort residencial que é já reconhecido por ter a sustentabilidade no seu ADN, quer agora criar a primeira comunidade de energia em Portugal, permitindo a partilha de energia verde entre vizinhos. Para o efeito, organizou, no âmbito das Belas Talks, um encontro-debate com a participação de dois do mais conceituados especialistas na área, Carlos Pimenta e Jorge Vasconcelos, durante o qual desafiou a plateia a conhecer melhor a realidade energética das suas habitações e a forma mais eficaz de optimização, deixando de ser consumidores passivos e passando a ser, também, produtores e actores activos da transição energética em curso.
Esta sessão teve ainda o objectivo de sensibilizar a comunidade para a problemática das alterações climáticas e a urgência de todos estarmos envolvidos no processo de eliminar progressivamente o uso de combustíveis fósseis, substituindo-os por outros de origem renovável, fomentando a poupança de energia e aumentando a eficiência energética.
Numa altura em que as directivas europeias na área da energia obrigam à construção de edifícios NZEB (Nearly Zero Energy Buildings), Gilberto Jordan, CEO do André Jordan Group, sublinha o importante papel do sector residencial na promoção de uma complementaridade entre produtores e consumidores: “As casas produzem electricidade e aquilo que não armazenarem poderão canalizar para quem precisa” sublinhando ainda “mais do que resilientes as habitações têm que ser à prova de alterações climáticas, à prova de chuvas torrenciais, mas também de calor. Para isso têm que estar muito bem isoladas, tanto de inverno como de Verão, ter produção autónoma de energia e capacidade de armazenamento”. Lembrando ainda que o grupo sempre foi criador das casas e das urbanizações mais sustentáveis do País e que mesmo a nível europeu sempre esteve à frente nas certificações ambientais. “O Belas Clube de Campo tem as caraterísticas necessárias para implementar este modelo de forma pioneira em Portugal”, sublinha o responsável.
Belas Country Club creates first “energy community”
What if you could collect the energy you do not use in your home during the day and even share it with a neighbour, thus reducing your energy bill and ecological footprint? This is the challenge that the Belas Country Club has just launched to its current and potential residents with the creation of the “Belas Energies” Program, designed in partnership with the company Homing.
Already recognized for having sustainability in its DNA, the residential resort now wants to create the first energy community in Portugal, allowing green energy to be shared amongst neighbours. To this end, the country club organized a meeting-debate with the participation of two of the most respected experts in the area, Carlos Pimenta and Jorge Vasconcelos, under the Belas Talks framework. During the event, the audience was given the challenge of trying to understand their homes’ energy consumption better and how to best optimise it, going from being passive consumers to becoming active producers and players in the on-going energy transition.
This session was also aimed at sensitising the community to the problems of climate change and the urgency for all to be involved in the process of progressively eliminating the use of fossil fuels, replacing them with other, renewable sources of energy. The session also mentioned that doing this also promotes energy savings and increases energy efficiency.
At a time when European energy directives require the construction of NZEB (Nearly Zero Energy Buildings) buildings, Gilberto Jordan, CEO of the André Jordan Group, underlines the important role of the residential sector in promoting complementarity between producers and consumers. “Houses produce electricity, and whatever they don’t store can be channelled to those who need it,” he explained, stressing that, “in addition to being resilient, homes have to weather climate change, torrential rainfall, and heat. To this end, they have to be very well isolated, both during winter and summer, to be able to produce energy autonomously and have storage capacity.” Additionally, the group has always been the creator of the most sustainable houses and urban developments in Portugal and that, even at European level, it has always been ahead in environmental certifications. “Belas Country Club is able to implement this model and act as a pioneer in this area in Portugal,” he emphasised.
